The most down stream access is found by parking across from Sierra Pines Resort and walking down the road behind the restaurant. Dry flies were my first go-to but that quickly changed as I noticed only small fishrising. There are not a lot of them, but I've personally seen 20"+ browns in that section of the river between mid-Sept and mid-Nov. . Can you fish in North Yuba River? It took quite a bit of time to get to where I wanted to go but it was nice to finally get up to cooler weather. Floating line with a 7 1/2 foot tapered leader. A couple of tips to find the bigger fish in the NFYR(1) In the summer, best to target the bigger pools where feeder creeks come in. All you have to do is show up! These fish will occasionally eat large caddis dry flies, but are more commonly caught on streamers or big nymphs. I scouted out several access points and settled for theLadies Canyon Creek section. Access is good with numerous pullouts and trails to the river. Regulations are single barbless hooks, artificial lures and a take of only 2 trout, 10 inches or greater.
